Program Details
With an ambitious itinerary, campers will need to work as a team to develop communication skills, risk-assessment, and preparation skills. Campers will encounter a range of natural elements as we eat and sleep outdoors. The basecamp will have access to amenities, so we will have the experience of sleeping in nature but still have some creature comforts.
As we will be staying at the foot of the Presidential Mountain Range in Crawford Notch State Park, we will have direct access to several trails to waterfalls, rivers, cliffs, and peaks. There will be a day of canoeing and rock climbing with local guides. The highlight of the trip will be a grueling trek along the spine of the Presidential Range with several miles of hiking above treeline. The schedule will allow for time to acclimate and build up strength to tackle our biggest challenges.
We will be travelling by van from Silver Spring. This means a full day of driving to get to our destination. All food will be provided. Tents will be provided, however, campers will need to bring their own sleeping bag and sleeping pad. We will provide guidance on recommended sleeping pads and specific clothing and personal gear for the trip.
